Default TPMS Sensor Compatibility, new to old

I have a 2005 Suburban Z71 with TPMS.
I got a great deal on some 2014 Denali wheels with TPMS sensors and new tires on them.

When I look, both the sensors from 2005 and 2014 are both 315mhz, though different models.

I can get my truck into training mode, but adding or subtracting air does not cause a horn sound.
My local tire shops tool, could communicate with the sensors and reset them when plugging in a 2014 Sierra, but again would not cause a horn sound.

Incompatible?
I do not want to shuck the tires right now to change the sensors (maybe next spring/summer).
Is there a TPMS RF receiver module plugged into the BCM or does the BCM itself have the antenna and controller?
Receiver antenna issue?

thx

Easiest thing to do is go online and order a set of 4 tire sensors and have them installed. They are like 20 bucks online for a set of 4

talk to the dealer. the module may not be compatible with the new sensors.

the 2014 model years use the remote control door lock receiver for wireless functions...fobs, tpms. the 2005 uses the passenger door module.

sell your sensors and buy new ones.
