Transmission problem with 1999 Silverado 1500
Hey everyone,
If anyone can point me in any direction on this one, I would greatly appreciate it. I was rear ended, but with no visible damage to the truck, so I didn't report anything. A week later the transmission went out. No reverse, 2nd, 4th. They diagnose it as the sun shell, suggest a rebuild. I pay $1600. The first time I got my truck back "fixed," it was all over the place. The transmission was still in very bad shape, shifting all over the place. It has now spent over 3 weeks in the shop. Finally I picked it back up and it drives like a dream shifting perfectly... for about 20 miles. Then shifts into 2nd and 3rd become very hard. When I turn the engine off and let it sit for a while, it seems to reset it. After that it drives fine again, for another 20 miles or so. My rebuilt transmission is "under warranty," but I'm becoming very exhausted dealing with this shop and every time they tell me something different. Any ideas? Thank you.
