Upgraded to a 2004 Silverado! Did I Make a Mistake?
I recently upgraded my work truck fleet, (fleet meaning 3 trucks, lol) with a 2004 Silverado v6. I've always been a Chevy fan and had older Chevy cars like two 1978 350 Z28s, 1970 396 Nova, 1972 454 Chevelle, 1973 C20 454 Square Body & 1974 C10 350 Square Body but never a Chevy truck newer than 1974. This 2004 Silverado is giving me problems with the passenger side running light and the licence plate lights, they simply don't work, I've replaced the bulbs, checked the fuses and researched online for answers with no luck. My other two work trucks are a 2000 F150 5.4l & 2010 F150 5.4l, I've had them for 6 years and neither one of them has ever given me any major problems. I had high hopes for this Silverado because it has low miles and is in excellent condition so I'm wondering if this is a common problem with all 2004 Silverados?

Check the pigtails. (sockets and wires) I had a tag light on mine go out several months after putting in led tag lights. I thought it was the bulb got it warrantied, only to find the socket was burned...
PRO TIP: Instead of getting the tag light socket, get the side marker one, slight modification of the plastic and it's a far cheaper fix. They were wanting like 30-50 something for the tag socket, and no one had it in stock, but they had the little 5 dollar side marker sockets under the HELP brand or whatever the it's called. IIRC the tag socket had 2 tabs to secure it in place, the side marker socket had 4, so I cut 2 of the tabs off and installed it. works perfectly. I used my pocket knife but you can get as fancy as you want.
