Yup, just a hair over 500 rpm at idle when I got home.

I had a ticking/knocking sound that got worse over several months. Ticking was cam and knocking was 3 pistons that had worn through the skirting. It was replaced under warranty at 50k miles. Cashier showed me the $$ that GM would pay the dealer. $5700. I bought it at 42k with a GM used certified warranty and also still had 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain yet.

They didn't really give a reason when I asked what caused it. Said maybe oil neglect, but I suppose since they certified it and I had done more than enough oil changes in the 8k miles they had no choice buy to replace it. I did talk to the previous owner who said he used did changes every 3k, but with 10w-40.

Wow.... $5700. Not good if you had to pay, ha ha. Hopefully mine never comes to that. Well, here's the gig, I have some before shots of my tb.

It seemed to be pretty dirty in there. I spent about an hour with a toothbrush and some tb & air intake cleaner and got alot of crap out. Plugged her back up and didn't notice much of any type of change to my idle. I forgot to get after pix, but it looks super clean on the exterior now.

Default Hmm

See I'm not sure either. I have new spark plugs, new plug wires and distributor cap, new maf sensor, fuel rails are at proper psi, cold air intake, throttle body is clean new ips, and tps, and my truck starts at 1200rpm but idles at 7-800 rpm. Can't seem to figure it out. No codes at all but Mines a 2000 gmc with a 5.3l and it's on the stock motor, no rebuild and I've got 300k on her..
