Default 2008 5.3 oil consumption

Hi. I have an 2008 Silverado LTZ 5.3 with the AFM. And yes, I've discovered the oil issue unfortunately. It's got 100,000 miles. Haven't had any issues. And don't want any. I'm going to send the ECM in to get the AFM disabled. Anyone had this done, and what were results afterward? Thanks

Tunin it out earlier would've avoided them, but if it gets worse then the problem is definitely there and will need to be adressed. Companies make kits now that get rid of the afm lifters and what not if it does go out

That may or may not solve your problem. The biggest and most common thing I've ran into is needing the updated valve cover installed. Theres a bulletin out for oil consumption that has a few different paths to take but I normally start with the valve cover and go from there.
