I want you to know I had the intermittent working cruise control, then stopped completely on my 2007 Silverado 1500 LT extended cab with 5.3 engine 2wd Z71 suspension. The light on the switch came on but the light on the dash didn't light up showing it engaged. I replaced the accelerator position sensor and my cruise control worked perfectly. That was until last night. After a slight acceleration my check engine light came on and the truck went into reduced engine mode as well as the message in my message center. I cleared the code, the truck runs fine...but cruise control doesn't work. I don't think you have a brake switch so much as an accelerator position sensor problem.

 

I am having the same problem. Wow, if it is a short. I may have to just live with out it.

 

Replaced the brake light switch but no luck. Shop seems to think it's the Set switch on the steering wheel.
Dealer wants $143 just to hook it up to the computer.
This is really frustrating.

 

The on off light on my 2008 comes on but CC will not engage. I have been thru 3 switches and the CC works for a mile or two then disengages and wont come back on after. Any ideas?

 

What switches did you replace?
