I have a 2008 Silverado that the drivers door controls stopped working. I could not use the Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors and Heated seats. The radio and dash lights also stayed on after removing the keys which drained the battery. The windows worked on the other 3 doors just fine. I took my truck to a local repair shop near me and they said this is a common problem with GM trucks and they actually had fixed this same issue the previous week on a Chevrolet Avalanche. Opening and closing the door adds a lot of stress on the wiring harness in the drivers door jamb and here is what they stated they had to do:

Testing found no communication with Drivers door switch. Tested wiring and found multiple signals missing. Found wiring in Drivers door jamb had multiple wires broken. Repaired wiring and relieved stress on Harness

Now everything works as it is supposed to and the cost to get this fixed was minimal compared to a lot of threads I have seen where people take their cars to a dealership only to have them not able to find the problem.
