Default 2008 Silverado Radio Speaker issues

I have a 2008 Silverado, i am not getting any sound out of the speakers. It sounds like a transitor radio sound coming from the dash. Anyone have any recommendations of how to solve this issue?

Does it make any difference when you use the fade or front/rear controls. Do any of the speakers work? The factory speakers are generally of poor quality to begin with and it would be a good idea to change them out.

My 2008 Silverado had the same problem. I bought a kit that had the speakers, mounts, and harness adapters. Cured the problem. Stereo sounds great now. I got the kit with Rockford Fosgate speakers on ebay for about $100.
