2009 Silverado battery problem
Hi all. New to the forum.
I own a 2009 Silverado Z71 4x4 5.3 V8. I have started to have issues with the battery. I notice sometimes that the volt meter will drop to 12 or 13 under normal load. Sometimes it will stay like that and sometimes it will go back up to 14. Drove it tonight and parked it for 2 hours and it wouldn't start when I turned the key. Nothing came on at all. Had to jump it and it started fine. Got home and waited a couple hours and started it again with no issues. Battery is almost brand new. Had everything tested and all checked out ok. Anyone else have this issue?

I've always use the way "if you want something done right, do it yourself".
First of all, I'd go over the connections. Positive and Negative and any Ground Straps that you may have. Take loose, scrape, wire brush to bright, and reinstall. Just because it "kinda" looks ok, don't trust that, clean them bright !
Now, if that doesn't clear your problem, then...
You may have just one of the Diodes (for Voltage regulation) in your Alternator that is bad, or going bad. Those are built in, and you may need a new/rebuilt Alternator.
