2010 Silverado 6.0L questions
Hi there!
I'm looking at a truck tomorrow, its a 2500 Z71 with the 6.0L automatic. I don't know much about them except they got lotsa power and thirsty I'm told. I'm naturally a dodge guy so this would be my first exploration into the chevy world lol. Is there any issues these trucks got that I should be aware of and should be looking out for? Its got just under 200,000km on it.

Did you buy it? The 6.0 is a great engine. I have one with 310,000 kms. They are prone to breaking exhaust manifold bolts so have a look and see if all yours are there. When they break it causes exhaust leaks that sound like lifters ticking. Make sure your transmission and rear diff are serviced. If you have have four wheel drive get the front diff and transfer case serviced.

fantastic truck. have seen some camshaft issues on the previous generation but its rare.
6.0 great engine.
dodge chevy 2500 rear axles are pretty much identical (different ratios) both have rear axle seal leaks...but its an easy fix. both have manifold bolts breaking. both tow great. chevy ride better due to ifs but dodge link and coil set up handles the weight better. chevy torsion bar set up is nice cause its adjustable.
change your fluids and it will run forever
any 6000lb truck with a towing axle ratio putting out 350hp will be thirsty. Its the cost of having a truck that can tow. I had a 4.8 1500 still sucked fuel but couldn't pass or tow anything. a 2500 suspension last much longer.
