Ac/ heater Vents have minimal power
I replaced blower motor, resistor and added refrigerant. And the vents barely have any air coming out of them. The ac works great just can’t get any good hard flow out of them vents. High speed feels like low speed. Where should I look next. Thanks!!!
Well, if you have a cabin air filter, have you replaced it? And if you don't, there is a really good chance your evaporator coil is clogged with dirt and debris. The evaporator coil is in the air handler box under the dash, and if you remove the blower, you can usually gain partial access to see if this is the problem.
My 1996 C1500 had barely any air flow, and this was the case. It had decades of dust and dirt and leaves accumulated in the air handler and clogging up the evaporator. I was able to pull some debris out by hand with the blower removed, reaching into the blower hole and then to the left. I sucked more out with a small flexible hose I added to my shop vac. Finally, I doused the entire accessible area with spray on coil cleaner, let it sit, then literally HOSED it out with a hose nozzle stuck into the blower hole, and on somewhat controlled flow. SOOOO much black water and dirt came out the drain hose under the hood, and ran down the driveway. After that there was much improved airflow, and great cooling for a couple of years, until a compressor leak developed that I have yet to fix. It holds a charge for about 24 hours at the moment, and I plan to replace all components aside from the evaporator at some point.
