Default Advice

Just recently bought a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 stock motor 100,000 miles on it and stock tranny the truck is running 35 12.50 tires on 20d with a 6 inch lift I'm trying to figure out what the best gears would be whether I should go with 4:10 or 4:56. I'm also trying to figure out the best way to get a little more up and go out of my truck as well as the best sounding and most efficient exhaust. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.truck is all stock besides tires and lift.

Is your 2007 Silverado a K-1500 (4WD)? If so, I wouldnt go past a 4.10 axle ratio since you have a low gear 4WD setting. If you use it at highway speeds, you'll end up burning more gasoline with a 4.56. It really depends on what you use it for. If its going to be off-road a lot, then a 4.56 wont make much difference. Used to own a CJ-5 Jeep with 3.55 axles and it did fine off-road, even on the toughest trails.

Good motor. Likely the one I'd choose if I ever sell my old K-1500.
