Drop Exhaust For Trans Fluid/Filter Change?
2013 Silverado 2500HD, 6.0, 6L90E
Haynes manual says "lower exhaust system if necessary to remove transmission pan." Do I need to drop the pipes on this one? Looks like there might be room but don't know for sure. I hope someone here does.
We're expected to disconnect the pipes from the manifolds every 30K miles with the possibility of broken flange studs every time?
I just got this truck last year, 94000 miles now, fluid looks and smells perfect but I don't know when it was changed last.
One lube place said filters don't need to be changed anymore, they pump all old fluid out & new in.
Please advise.

I haven't done a 2500; 6 speeds for the 1500 are like that but its not required to unbolt the exhaust...I have a buddy pry the exhaust down with a prybar...if you move the pan the right way...it comes out with enough room so the gasket clears. might take a while to figure it out the firs time.
