Default Installing OEM Navigation Radio in 2010 LT

My 2010 LT does not have radio controls on the steering wheel. Can I install the Year-specific OEM navigation radio in the truck (plug-and- play) and it function correctly?

A lot of vehicles from 2008 and on incorporated a "Network" composed of modules. I believe the radio was one of the modules in the network, could be wrong on this.
If a module on the network is not programmed or not functioning , there could be problems. Suggest you confirm with a reliable service dept BEFORE installing and now that can of worms has been opened.
