Looking for first truck
Hello everyone I am new here and I am looking to get my first truck and I have narrowed it down to three options and I was just wondering what are the pros and cons of each one and if there is any reoccurring issues with these makes and models. The first option is a 2007 Silverado 1500 LT 4WD 85,000 miles for $17,000. The second is a 2008 Silverado 1500 LT1 4WD with 101,000 miles for $16,000. The third option is a 2009 Silverado 1500 LT 4WD with 111,000 miles for $16,000. They are all extended cabs with 6.5ft beds and 5.3L V8. I would like to know your inputs any thing will be helpful. Thanks.

I can actually give you second hand experience with the first 2 listed trucks. My father in law was recently in the market for a used truck and looked at your first 2 listed in person. He thought that those 2 trucks looked pretty beat up in person. He also test drove an F150 at the dealership in Racine. It had a wratchet strap holding the rear axle in place in stead of a U bolt. Might want to stay clear of that dealership. Though I live in Sun Prairie I can not speak for the truck at Goben.

As you can see, when the mileage is low, the price is high. There's a good reason for that.
Have you tried going to your library and looking up the reliability of those vehicles in Consumer Reports Auto issue?
Finally, it would appear that some used auto dealers are not selling trucks in really good condition. If you are comfortable sizing up a truck, why not try buying from a private seller. Usually, a private seller has to take a lower price than a dealer for the same vehicle.
