Default Seafoam

Has anyone had any luck with sea seafoam? I've had some mechanics tell me that it causes more problems that it helps and I've had other mechanics swear by it. I'd like. To do a BG fuel treatment and maybe seafoam my 4.8 with 133k. Im not having any issues that I know of, just preventice maintenance.

I've heard nothing but good things about Seafoam, but haven't used it yet. I put a bottle of Chevron Techron down the tank every so often, even though I use name
brand gasoline. Have never had any fuel injection issues since Fuel Injection became available on US cars back in the mid-late 1980's.

I have used Seafoam in the past and have good results. Like any other cleaning agent, it works by dissolving deposits that would now travel somewhere else. If that deposit does not fully dissolve it can clog a small port like that on a fuel injector. Like oilcan, I use a system cleaner/treatment with every oil change. I prefer the GumOut High Mileage Regain products.

I use it, not as regularly as I'd like to. I use it three places - through the brake booster vacuum line, in the crankcase right before an oil change, and in the tank. Never had any issue, and the smoke show is a fun way to freak out your neighbors.
