So I’ve been noticing that the truck has been slow to start lately after it’s been sitting for a while. I turn the key and it cranks for a while then eventually turns over and runs or sometimes I have to turn the key a second time and then it starts right up with no interruption. I’ve also noticed that if I put the key in the auxiliary position for a minute or so then it starts right up (pressure builds back up I suppose).
So obviously it’s slowly loosing pressure somewhere when it sits for an extended period of time. I’m also smelling gasoline around the vehicle.
I just returned from a service center and they ran diagnostics on it. He went over the readings with me and all were within normal range and the fuel pump is fine. He stated it could be the fuel pressure module but he needs the truck to sit for 3-4 hours before he can test it. Does anyone have experience with this issue and know what is going on? I just dropped $1300 on suspension issues and $85 on this diagnostic test so I would really like to know the exact issue before I put any more money into it.
I'd drop a little gasoline down the TB and see if it starts up quicker. Have you checked your plugs, wires, coils etc.? I'd also get a fire extinguisher if you smell gas. Nothing worse than watching an engine fire. What kind of fuel are you using? Those new ARCO ads are bunk. ARCO is one of the worst fuels you can buy, no matter what they claim. A good way to plug up your injectors. Might put some Techron Complete or Seafoam down the tank, find a nice long county road, and open that ***** up Italian Style.

if your are referring to a long crank time..but it turns over at normal speed...sure sounds like fuel pressure leakdown. nothing with show up on the scan tool as once its started...everything is normal.
to confirm this: put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail...prime the system and monitor for a drop in fuel pressure. if yes...you must isolate the system to determine if the leak is at the rail/injectors or tank check valve or fuel lines.
