Stabilitrak/traction/CEL
Has anyone else randomly had the check engine light, check stabilitrac, and check traction control all at one time? No issues and all three came on going down the highway. Had a mechanic to plug in and 3 cylinders were misfiring. Replaced all spark plugs and wires.. this fixed two of the cylinders. Replaced injector after that, and still having the same issue. Truck shakes bad when idle. I am now told that it is internal engine and I will need a whole new engine ($6000 with labor) thoughts? Should I get second opinion? It is a 2007 Chevy Silverado LT Z71 5.3. With 156,xxx miles on it

Yes i had this happen the intake lifter for #4 cyl collapsed . The engine had almost 200k miles on it so I opted to do a long block replacement .
Following that repair I also had a remaining stabilitrack issue that was caused by steering column being 1 full turn off center which happened when I replaced the boots on the intermediate shaft in engine bay while engine was out . I also had an airbag warning light that was caused by 2 internally corroded fuses in the engine bay fuse panel . the fuses looked ok but multi-meter showed them to be open circuits during continuity test . An hour and a half later after disconnecting negative battery cable and pulling each fuse and testing individually for continuity and applying purpose made corrosion preventative grease . I no longer have any warning lamps in instrument cluster . I also applied this grease to the connectors beneath the fuse panel .
Hope this helps you out .
