I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado. My truck started overheating when I leave it idling for 10 - 15 minute periods. Once I start driving the temperature usually goes back to normal and the AC turns back on. Now it’s at a point where the temperature isn’t going back down to normal and I’m losing power to the engine. I replaced both the thermostat and the temperature sensor and the engine is still running hot. Any help or suggestions as to what else I could be dealing with would be greatly appreciated. Check the fins on the radiator. See if any are missing or damaged. My guess is the radiator no longer effectively removes heat. It may be scaled up inside. If so, it may need replacement.

 

sounds like a problem with the radiator fan. It should be spinning full speed when your temp is too high.
