15 LT2 running hot.
Bear with me here, it's my son's truck so I'm going to struggle to remember everything in order.
130k, he notices the truck is starting to run warm, or warmer. Before it can be addressed, lifter died and wiped the cam. Before being diagnosed with the lifter cam issue, new injectors were installed. After it was determined it still had a miss, he sent it to a local shop to have a cam upgrade, new lifters and an tune put in. That started a true dumpster fire, the 2 week job, turned into 2 months, then they told him the truck was ready, picked it up and it's squeeking, he points it out, they say the alternator died, after that is proven wrong they say it's the high pressure pump, after thats proven wrong, it goes back to the shop for another 2 months before I finally get involved (they left the truck sit for weeks at a time) we get the truck back after they claim to have replaced the lifter for the high pressure pump.
Truck still running hot. They tried to claim the fans weren't coming on soon enough, but the fans do come on. It has new coolant, new thermostat, and the only part left to throw at it is the radiator.
Assuming we throw a new radiator at it, and it still runs north of 210, is there anything else we should look at? We're in the process of getting in touch with the tuner to (he's separate from the shop) to see what he thinks or if there is something in the tune that would cause it to run hot.
We're grasping at straws here so any insight or other possibilities would be great. Truck has heat, so it doesn't seem the heater core is plugged. Fans run when it gets hot and with the AC. There only seems to be about a 10 degree difference between the upper and lower hoses.
Anyhow, thanks in advance.
