Sorry if this has been posted... I searched and couldn't find anything.

I recently leased a 2017 Silverado 1500 LS. The other day, I noticed when I unlock the doors and then open the drivers door (Could happen with other doors, haven't had the chance to test it yet) I hear this whirring sound, almost like hydraulics moving into place or something... I can't for the life of me figure out what it is... My thoughts are it sounds almost like side steps moving into place, however I don't have them so... not sure..

Do higher model Silverados have retractable side steps? If so, is Chevrolet putting the pieces in place for all the models and just putting the steps for lower models???
