I have a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L with AFM with 49k miles.
I have not experienced any odd oil consumption, engine issues, or any of the characteristics i read about AFM causing 5.3L engines to fail. Is this issue, not an if issue but a when issue on these trucks? l am contemplating trading for another p/u to avoid any future mechanical issues from the AFM system. Curious what others have experienced. The deletes for the AFM I see, dont seem to address any of the mechanical repairs required to remove the AFM from the 5.3L engines, did i read this wrong.

Are you sure your truck has DFM? That is the time they dropped AFM and switched to DFM. I have a 2021 without DFM. That is when they were having trouble getting the chip to control the AFM/DFM and they had trucks sitting waiting for the chip. They put a few out without DFM. I was lucky to get one of those and have had no problems at all.

 

One site i searched indicated based on VIN that i have AFM, other site says DFM
VIN is 1GCRWCED4LZ282632
it would be great if my truck was skipped
is the dealership the only true option to determine if AFM/DFM? or not
