AC out in New 2014 Silverado Pls Help
2014 Silverado 1500 4x4
Got in it today.. noticed climate control was blowing warm air. Did all the basics of playing with the controls trying every combination to get the AC to kick in.. and nothing.
I drove it over to the dealer Bellevue Chevrolet, in Bellevue WA. to hopefully get some basic help.. maybe briefly check my settings, fuses, etc..
I explained to the service counter what was going on and he walks out to my truck, looks at my mileage (46000) says "you're out of warranty" I asked him if he could check fuses or just give it a basic look over real quick (like somebody who actually cares about you might do a brief check) and NOTHING!! He was so rude and short and had ZERO desire to help and ZERO compassion about my new truck.
I am a disabed US Marine on a limited budget putting myself thru school at 39 years old.. I drive my truck for PTSD therapy. It's important to me that the climate control works.
In short, I went home, checked all my fuses which were good to go..
And I have no idea what to do..
I can't afford this repair right now.. I just spent 50k on this new truck last year..
Do I get a can of freon from Auto zone and shoot it in there to see what happens? I don't even hear the compressor kicking on though...
Whats the move? The dealer was less than helpful in any manner.

start the engine and turn on the a/c.
open the hood and see if the compressor clutch is engaged. It will either be engaged and spinning or disengaged and only the pulley will spin.
post back with this information.

Did you mention Climate control ? meaning you set the desired temperature ? If so, if my memory is correct, I believe there is a TEMP SENSOR under the hood close to the r/side firewall, or may be under the cowl screen @ the bottom on Windshield. Look around and see if there is any abstructure such as leaves etc. JMHO and good luck.................................Now you know why the Dealers are loosing customers, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE,!!!!!!!!!!!
