Question backup camera too bright at night red screen

2018 Silverado LT1500. Back up camera screen is too bright at night. As you can see from the pictures there is a lot of red in the image. Nearly impossible to use at night. Works fine during the day. Had the dealer do the software upgrade (17-NA-269) no improvement. Installed an aftermarket camera ($$) no improvement. Have checked and cleaned connections. Tried changing brightness on screen but couldn't find an option to do that. Has anyone else seen this issue. It has done it "forever" since I have owned it (I am second owner, so warranty didn't transfer). Tried blocking lights from back up lights. As I get older I use it more and it is turning into a safety issue for me. thanks for any insight!

Exclamation That's a normal thing

That's your brake lights shining as you back up. Mine does the same thing and as far as I'm concerned it's normal.

Hi thanks for the response. One reason I posted this is to see if others such as yourself have the same image and I do.
In the process of trouble shooting this I found service bulletin, 17-NA-269, which led me to believe the overly bright nighttime image wasn't normal. The local dealer said they performed this software upgrade and it didn't change anything. There is another post in the forum someone said it was impossible to use camera at night to hitch a trailer due to the brightness being too great. The photographs I included don't do the brightness any justice. In person the brightness is much worse. In addition, we ran a test and actually blocked off the brake lights and still had the red washout. I have included those pics. thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Default My bad

OK, well that rules out my brake light theory in your case.
But I do get a red glow on backing up which is more pronounced when I hit the brakes at night.
Hope you get to the bottom of your problem. Good luck!
