Default Cabin air filter intake

2014 Silverado 1500, where is the cabin air intake located? I know where the filter itself is, but where does it draw outside air from? I am noticing fumes in the cabin w/windows up, and sitting still. Goes away when trk is moving. Exhaust manifold's and bolts seem ok. I have found no exhaust leaks. I changed cabin air filter and smell went away, for about 2 wks. Now it's back. I bought the trk new, 145,000 miles and it runs fine. Any ideas?

So you 1st said fumes, which implies exhaust. Then you say changed filter and smell went away. Can you please describe the odor.
I believe the air intake in most vehicles is under the cowling base of windshield.

Very good, the truck has always been in Arizona during the winter, so very little corrosion. Had a mechanic put the trk up on a lift for inspection and could not find any exhaust leaks. He also checked ex. manifold bolts. He said all was good. I don't know, but the smell is real, there has to be a leak somewhere. But only when the trk is sitting still, it goes away when moving.

The odor is exhaust fumes. Windows up and sitting still. Smell goes away when trk is moving.
