Does anyone actually upgrade their stereo any more?

I just say this post on the HP about an Alpine upgrade for the Silverado's head unit. And while it looks cool, I wonder how many people actually upgrade from factory now? I always figured it was more trouble than it's worth?

I'm considering upgrading to the Kicker add-on: Kicker PSIEXT14 Amp & Powered Sub PowerStage Upgrade for 2014 & Newer Chevy/GMC Truck
Amazon Amazon

It's just hard to spend $1250 on a stereo upgrade. Used to get a complete system for less than that!

I hardly ever listen to the factory radio to begin with. Haven't listened to the one in my 2015 2500 since I bought it over 2 years ago. No XM either. So I would not be a candidate for upgrading the stereo.
