Default Frame rub

Hello everyone, so I hate to do this but I haven’t exactly found my answer just by looking through old topics. I just purchased a 2016 2500 Silverado couple months ago. It has factory Chevy wheels 20 in with 35x12.5 tires on it. It only rubs in one spot, and that’s on the frame, when fully turned on the back side of the whee well. I found this out today when backing down the boat ramp at slow speeds fully turned just felt a slow vibration till I straightened just a bit and it went away. Once I investigated I found a shiny spot on frame on both right and left sides towards bottom of frame rail. The tire itself shows no signs of rubbing. My question mainly is overtime, if left alone can this cause any serious frame damage? I like the stock look without the tires sticking out the wheel well so I was hoping to avoid spacers.

Have you checked the sticker in the drive door jamb to verify the correct size tires are on it? It’s unlikely they would put tires on it at the factory that would rub on the frame. It’s more likely a PO put slightly larger tires on it.

If they are the correct size, have the alignment checked - something could be off causing it to rub.

As to frame damage - rust and corrosion will eventually form unless you keep painting it.

Yes correct, I was just mentioning the wheels themselves were factory. I forget but I think the tires came stock with 265’s I believe? I appreciate your feedback. I may put some fresh undercoat on the 2 small sections and see how much it rubs. It’s pretty easy to avoid turning the wheels full lock currently but I’m wanting to by a fifth wheel here soon and just don’t want to have to worry about that while backing into spots at the campground. Thanks again ;-)
