Exclamation gear shift delay

Hello everyone, new to the forum, so my 1500 has a jerk when it shifts gears. The only thing is it only happens sometimes. Has anyone had this issue before?

It would help if you gave us more information, Val23. What year, and model is your Chevy 1500. C/K? How many miles on the odometer? Have you taken care of your transmission with regular oil and filter changes?

its a 2017 silverado LT , it has a 5.3 eAssist, 119,000 miles on it... I bought the truck with 109,000 miles on it.
I have not changed the transmission oil on it yet

I'd thought the Chevy pickup automatic transmissions would have come with a dipstick. The car makers seem to think that's too much anymore, and speak of "lifetime" fluids, which is a lot of BS. If your transmission is like the one in my 2015 Chevy Malibu, you have to add fluid through the vent cap. Then to check the fluid level there is a 12mm bolt on the drivers side. Does your Chevy transmission have an oil-pan? My Bu' does not, just a drain plug on the bottom. The filter is way up in the transmission were you cannot get to it. I would have thought that as you don't have a transverse motor, none of this would be an issue. I seem to have been mistaken. That said, I believe you should drop the fluid, and refill and see if this issue clears up for you.

Why would I lie about it? If I’m trying to resolve the issue that I’m dealing with.

Val23: Welcome to the forum. Are you saying that the video is not a correct representation of your truck? If it does not have a dipstick that is shown in the video then I suggest you take it to a dealer and ask them what's going on. I do know that manufacturers of some vehicles have stopped putting dipsticks for the transmission on them.
