I am trying to replace the lug nuts on my 2017 Silverado with black ones. The rims and all other parts are OEM. They are the 22" rims.
The new lug nuts I bought are 1.77" according to the listing (approximately correct), but the OEM nuts are about 2". The new ones are the correct bevel/conical style nuts with the correct 14x1.5 threads. The issue is that I'm scared the posts extend too far to fit the new lug nuts. I didn't realize how much shorter the new ones were until I had 5 of them on a rim. They do seem to "bottom out" to varying degrees, rubbing the black oxide coating off the "cone" area of the nut and I had no problem torquing them to the recommended 140 ft/lb.
Will the new nuts fit? I can't seem to easily find exact replacements for the OEM (they are all shorter), but this is not something I'm willing to be uncertain on. Has anyone used shorter lugs on theirs? Pretty much every website says that even lug nuts shorter than 1" will fit, and I'm probably being paranoid, I'd just rather hear it from someone who knows for sure.
