Default How Long Do They Last - U-joints

Hey there. Just joined and first post.

As the title says, just wondering what your experiences have been with rear driveshaft joints. In this case, my truck is a 2wd 2019 1500 LD w/5.3 and 6-speed.
It's a 2019 model, but looks like the 2018. I've run into this before, so figure it's a holdover (similar trucks are referred to as OBS maybe?). Should this be in the 2019 forum, or stick it here?

I did a quick look-around, but didn't actually use the search function (yet). Might be that google works better, but it also tends to take you all over the place. In my cursory search, did not see any similar discussions. Or even an FAQ for that matter?

I'm pushing 70k miles now, mostly around town, and was wondering if it's about time to pay closer attention. No problems yet, but don't want to be left out in the cold, so to speak, if I let it go too long. In my experience, most u-joint issues show up well before full failure mode comes a' callin. But not always!
And I hate to say it, but while I used to be able to call myself a "car guy" before this, I literally have not even been under the truck to see if the joints are even greaseable! I even let a shop change my shocks! Oh, the shame of it all. As Doctor Smith would say... (old guy reference)

My assumption was that they were not fitted with Zerks, because that's how the O.E.s have tended to lean over the past few decades.

Anyway, would like to know what you all think.

I have a bunch of these questions, such as wheel bearings and brakes and spark plugs and belts, but figured I'd stick to one at a time to keep each thread as clean as possible.

Thanks!

Paul
