Default Oil Leak

My 2017 Chevrolet Silverado has developed an oil leak. It appears to be coming from the left side of the engine, near the corner of the oil pan. The oil filter does not have oil on it, neither does the drain plug. I noticed the oil on one of the bolts to the oil pan right next to where the engine mounts to the transmission. Is this a recall thing? Has anyone else had this problem?

If could be as simple as a valve cover seal leaking. If it's the 5.3L, they all tend leak over time in five areas. One is at the back of the engine where the oil pan overlaps the rear engine cover and block. One is at the top of the rear engine cover where oil under high pressure flows. Another is the rear main seal. Porosity in the rear engine cover for certain model years causes oil to seep through over time. Finally, on older high mile engines, the seal for the rear engine cover hardens and can leak from various locations.

Not sure which of the three engines you have but I've seen many posts from people with 2014+ GM truck models with oil leaks.

Do you think this would be covered under warranty? The truck is only 2 years old.

Yes, provided you haven't exceeded 60,000 miles already.
