Default Outside Temp Gauge

Temp gauge not working. Says 64 and its 82. Whats wrong? How do you fix? 2017 silverado 1500 crew cab Help!!

It is either the sensor located center behind the grill, or the display. in this case I would think the sensor as the displays typically just go out or read out garbage.

Thanks, I have seen a video on changing the sensor. Looks like a real pain. Is there any way without removing the panels and grill?

do you have a grille insert...anything that blocks or changes air flow to the sensor will skew the sensor reading. any resistance changes in the wiring/bad connections will cause inaccurate readings.

is the gauge off all the time or some of the time. the gauge reading is not a live reading. it updates from a set criteria so it will be off until it updates.

My 15 did the same , I changed it out . Have to remove the grill , sensor is not expensive .
