Default Passenger side complete wheel assembly came off.

Was in an accident yesterday and not sure if it was due to mechanical failure. Any thoughts?

Checked mirrors, clear lane then attempted to pull into a travel lane when all of a sudden a white truck and I collided and my front passenger tire ends up in the median. Even 4WD hub is off. Was coming from a dead stop in the rain, only about 15mph. Could this be mechanical failure? Had the truck 2 years and was getting tires in 2 days. Guess not now.

when you collide with vehicles..things will come off. seen it many times. have seen ball joints break from sliding into curbs.
ithe ubj and outer tie rod end didn't fail as they are still attached to the knuckle. the impact has pushed the lower bj out of the knuckle. the oversized tires are near bald. In Canada it would be a 3 to 4 k $ repair.

As I said the tires I ordered were going to be put on in 2 days. Also the 4WD hub came off. Not saying I wasn't at fault as I did pull out into what I saw was a clear lane, downpour rain didn't help either.

hub is still intact... is bolted to the knuckle so it will come off with it. as far as the axle shaft; the circlip and band clamp aren't meant to retain a knuckle separation. what occurred in nothing out of the ordinary for a collision.

Looks like balljoints popped out. I've seen it happen before on severely worn suspension. Having big heavy tires on factory suspension that wasn't designed for that kind of stress certainly doesn't help. And you had a collision so ....
