Sirius XM not working in 2017 Silverado
My truck is about 6 months old. The radio works fine, with the exception of SXM. It works, however, the stations will get static then go mute. If I change the channel, it works fine. This happens every single day, but not all the time. There is also no rhyme or reason, meaning it does not always happen in the same spot.
I've had SXM for 8 years on 4 vehicles, this is the first time this has happened. I've worked with SXM for several months, resetting the radio numerous times. They finally advised me to take it to the dealership.
When I brought my truck in, they were finished a few hours later. When I went back to pick it up, they told me there were no trouble codes so no repair was done. Instead, they gave me a bulletin talking about geographic signal errors with SXM. Yesterday, I called to speak with a service manager about how disappointed I was nothing was fixed. He told me there is a nation wide signal problem with SXM affecting multiple manufacturers, and once that is fixed he would take a second look at my vehicle. Even though I played him a video of what was actually going on, and explained I have another vehicle with SXM that does not have this problem, he insisted. I spoke with SXM today, they don't know what he is talking about.
Anyone else have problems like this? Any ideas on how to get dealer to actually fix this?
