Stolen 2016 Chevrolet Silverado (Dallas,TX)
Hello all,
Not sure if anyone else has been a victim of a stolen truck, in particular, our models ranging from 2015-18. Well, mine was and completely stripped. Insurance is not helping at all (another long story) and now I'm stuck with a naked truck-- no lights, grille, interior seats, nothing. Anyone have any recommendations as far as how to acquire all of the materials to build it back? Only had the truck for 2 weeks before it was stolen.

My response was as good as the question.
If the wiring harness is missing or damaged beyond repair, then you'll need another one. They can be very expensive to buy from a dealer, and difficult to install. You might be able to pull one from a junkyard.

This is a case where I would look for a wreck or a similar "parts" truck and gut it for all I need then get rid of it. I would imagine Dallas probably has some big salvage yards, look through a yard and if you find something see if they'd sell you the whole thing. They probably won't because their money is in the parts but you never know, then if you have it at home you pull from it as you go, that is if you have a place you can have a wreck sitting around for a month or two with out the neighbors yelling.. I just picked up a 00 C1500 today for free, guy wanted it out of his yard. It's pretty trashed but it has probably $500 in parts I can pull and use and then pull the cab, cut the frame and make a trailer out of the bed that I can sell for $500, then haul what's let to a local yard that will take what's left for free. Win win for me...
