2500HD Audio
Hey guys and gals,
So ive been trying to source an Audio Add an Amp harness for this truck. I did some research and it looks like the 2019 and 2020 worktruck model radios are not the same (at least in part number anyway). I Just want to make sure that i am correct, as i cannot 100% verify that. I have a 2020 silverado 2500HD Custom that comes with the 7 inch screen, with XM radio but no upgraded sound system in the vehicle.
I purchased this, thinking 1 model year difference, GM may not have changed up the work truck radios.
Anyone know of anything like this that may work? or any reason to think this one wont work? As you can see on the sale description that it works for the 2500/3500 worktruck with the 7 inch screen non upgraded system.

So an update on this thread for any of those Audio guys out there.
Long story short, that harness will not work. It all depends on the type of radio you have, which can be found by scanning your QR code on the driver/passenger compartment door jamb. Mine in this case was a U2K, which was the S-band enabled digital radio. Unfortunately no one makes the harness for these, as apparently they redesigned the radio from the 19/20 model years. So back to square 1 as it were.. So the good news; is that these trucks audio systems already come with high/low automation for frequencies, and thus does NOT require a Line out Converter. So basically what i ended up doing was adding a simple Line out Converter and tapped them into a single rear speaker (all of the main speakers front and rear have the same draw, and thus it doesn't matter which one you patch into). I used the LOC box to patch into the green and green/black wires, and then ran the RCA's from that to the box that i bought (Rockford Fosgate P500-12, all in 1 system). and then i will just have to run the amp signal wire to a fuse under the hood (havent found that fuse yet, but plan to this weekend). So there it is, for those of you that were wondering about this stuff.

Cavdrkz24, please let me know what you figure out for the amp signal wire, I am getting ready to install a Rockford Fosgate R500X1D Prime and that is the missing link for me. I was already going to tap into one of the rear door speakers from the middle pillar and just run it though the high level input on the amp.
Best of luck, I may dig into it tomorrow and if so I will let you know what I find.
