Default Can I Add Adaptive Cruise Control?

Hi There,

I purchased a 2023 Silverado 1500 RST Rally Edition in the summer of 2023. My previous truck was a 2015 Tacoma, which was also a great truck but I was looking for something roomier and with better towing. The truck has been awesome to drive and I love all the technology inside. I only have one regret… One feature I really wanted to have in the truck was Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) but unfortunately, my truck does not have this feature included. A couple months after I bought the truck, I asked the dealership where I purchased the truck if it would be possible to add this feature. I figure this would most likely be a software update since my truck seems to have all the sensors and cameras that would be required for ACC to function. I don’t have a record of my conversation with the dealership anymore but I remember they told me it could not be done. I’m coming here to ask the community if anyone has done this? I feel like this should be an easy software change in the truck and voila but I could be wrong… Please let me know your thought / experiences with this.

-FG

I've never heard of dealerships adding options after sale.

doesn't it require physical buttons too (at minimum).

This is a photo of my steering wheel, I’m fairly certain all the buttons are there. GM issues software updates all the time so I struggle to see how enabling something like ACC would be different!

I have the same Gap button, as well but the truck does not slow down. Paid 40k for 2023 Silverado LT
