Default adaptive cruise control 2015 Tahoe

Hello everyone, love my new Tahoe. I hope this is not a stupid question. I have tried playing around with the*cruise*control and setting the "trailling distance" from the car in front of me to the max. However, I dont know if I am missing a button or a setting but I definitely do not keep that same distance and run up on the car in front of me till I have to hit the brakes. Has anyone else had an issue with that? Please tell me I am doing something wrong, ha.

I get to my desired speed, turn on the cruise control and hit the set button. The collision sensor is set to max. Anything else I need to do. Thanks

GraffGuru explains it for you.

Are you sure you have adaptive cruise control? Collision detection and cruise control is not the same as ACC.

Let us know what you figure out.

Thanks. The more I look, I may just have the collision aware and not the adaptive cruise control. The salesperson said it had it, but I dont see it listed on the options sheet but then again see nothing regarding cruise control at all. I have the z71 trim if that makes a difference. I have included two pics (sorry not sure why they turned sideways) one is the buttons on the wheel and the other are the buttons located on the left side next to the light controls. I also see nowhere in any literature regarding the button that has the truck angled downward and the cruise control icon. Any idea? Thanks again

I went to GM's website for Tahoe - it's a $995 option on LTZ.

Adaptive Cruise Control
Employs a sophisticated radar transceiver that automatically adjusts to maintain both a preset speed as well as a preset following distance to the vehicle ahead
Automatically brakes and accelerates to maintain a driver-selected following gap (near, medium or far) or time
Includes Front Automatic Braking to help slow your vehicle and avoid an accident with the vehicle in front of you
Operates conveniently using the steering-wheel mounted controls
Available on LTZ

Thanks, must not have it. Any idea what that button on the side would be for?

Since the salesman told you that you had it, you should have him show you how to use it.
