Is the exhaust adaptive valve (flapper valve) in the closed position when truck is shut off? Does it go into fall safe, open position, when truck is running? Would it be wise to check it every 2 weeks for free movement? With job I have, I have to go. I don't want to be crawling under truck banging on valve to get it to start.

2014 RCSB 2wd Silverado LT 4.3 V6. After more research, the valve flapper sits up/down in the pipe. It will pivot both ways. It is there to break up the exhaust plugs/pulses as they go along the exhaust tubing. It is for sound only. I wired mine open and went for a drive. I could hear more noise, sounded funny when going into V4 mode. Unwired it and leaving it alone. I want the "quiet" exhaust.
Is it restrictive??? Probably some, but truck is averaging 23.2 MPG combo 90% highway/10% city with only 800 miles on it so how bad can it be???

 

How can i wire mine so it can open i kind of miss my old sierra rumble on cold starts i do not what to go with an aftermarket exhust because its to noise on highway speeds
