Default Factory power assist steps / Running boards

My drivers side factory power step got jammed with ice and stopped working. The passenger side works just fine. It tried to go out about 3 times and then just stopped working. I got all the snow and ice off and then started to try and figure out what was going on. I tried to find info online on how to reset it, checked fuses which I couldn't find, my fuse panel in the manual and online didn't match with the fuse panel in the pickup under the hood or passenger dash, I though that was strange. Maybe they are part of the system the error message was about? Both fuse panel covers were marked really well though. Pulled the - battery cable, not sure how to get the + off, it has a big assembly that covers half the battery with several large wires connected to it. Let it sit overnight, started and stopped it. I noticed when I started it I had this error on the display Side detection temporarily unavailable, I thought this may be due to ice build up on the bumpers. I turned on the propane heater and thawed the whole rig out and then next day I went for a drive to the post office and when I got to there and got out the side step worked. When I went to work this morning there was no more error and the side step works like normal. I just thought I would post this info to help someone else. I have a 2022 1500 LTZ with the Trail boss lift installed and 18 inch trailboss wheels and tires with the factory steps, 40k miles at this point in time. They are great steps, there is a button on the back you can press and they will go to the back tire to help you get things in and out of the bed, pretty cool design. If it gets really terrible outside or you think things are going to ice up overnight I suggest going into the vehicle settings and turning off the power steps or setting them to deployed if you need to have them out until the bad weather is over.
