Question for 3.0 Duramax owners
What is your experience with diesel odor or on start up exhaust odor during stinking up the garage? I am considering the 3.0 in a Silverado as my daily drive so it will be parked in our integral garage that opens into the pantry and laundry room. As much as I loved the smell of diesel smoke and nitromethane in my younger days after 63 trips around the sun smelling up the house isn't so appealing and would kill the 3.0 in favor of a 5.3.

I have a 2020 GMC 2500HD with 6.6l Duramax. You can’t smell traditional diesel exhaust even with that big engine. If I leave the engine running while attaching a trailer the worst I get is a little ammonia smell from the DEF system. No “Rolling Coal” smoke either when you hammer it. The new diesels are tuned completely different. That smell and smoke was unburned raw diesel fuel. Modern efficiency has virtually eliminated it.
