2020 Z-71 Silverado 1500
Rear side door window exploded today. Just shattered while sitting in the driveway.
There was no damage to it or the door or electrics.
Why would it just shatter for no reason?
Is this a common problem with this vehicle?
Thank you.

I don't think it's common. I've heard of sunroofs shattering a lot, but not side windows.
All it takes is a little nick. Possibly even to small to see. Especially if it's on the edge. Maybe something got caught in the track. Add a few hot/cold cycles and bam.
I had the rear window shatter on our Yukon a few years ago and mid-2024 rear window shatter on my '88 Mazda truck, at first thought it was random. I now believe in the first case a pebble from my lawn tractor/mower caused this as I remember mowing weeds that day, and the garage door was open a short time as my daughter came to visit. On the Mazda truck I KNOW it was from a pebble from the mower, see photo. The pebble came to rest on my cross-bed tool box, and the window film saved me from having a big mess.
