Default Drivers door

I just purchased a 98 Astro. The drivers door will not open. There is apparently a broken connection between the inside and outside levers. Does anyone know how to open the door without breaking something? Help!!

A slim jim might work. You can try to take off the inside door panel so that you might be able to get to the linkage to open the door. I have done this before, it is hard, but it works. I did not do on an Astro.

Thanks for the reply. Had to take the door apart and found that the locking rod was off. Door wouldn't open because it was locked. Re-installed the bar and it works now. A real pain to put the bar back.
