I have a 2000 astro with 190K, runs great except one issue after it is warmed up and then shut down. When starting the motor after it is warmed up there is no power like it is starving for fuel. Give it 10-20 seconds of very low throttle and it picks up and is fine after that. I just changed the fuel filter, didn't help. Fuel pump is pretty new about 30K. Any ideas? Throttle plate sticking maybe? Paul

Where was the pump sourced? Anything other than ACDelco/Delphi are known to die prematurely in these vans. Part of the reason I was able to buy Grumpy so cheap was due to a AutoZone pump being on its way out.

Quick search shows that the Delphi unit is available at Shucks (What kind a name is that for a auto parts store?), but is not the cheapest unit available. Do you remember how much you paid?

Can you check the fuel pressure?

I don't have the tool to do that but may be able to borrow or buy. Not sure how much they cost?
problem only seems to occur after warm startup. Starts and idles fine, give it some pedal then slugs, no power at first then after 5-15 seconds of very easy throttle picks right up and goes great. What should I look for on the pressure gauge?
I can't remember what I paid for the pump, seems like around $200 or so. Shucks is kind of funny name, better than Whoops I guess. It is the biggest parts chain in the NW for as many years as I can remember. Just recently all stores changed to O'Reilly which is new to this area. Paul

Fuel pressure gauges run about $45 around here, haven't found a place that loans them yet.
Sounds about the cost of the Spectra pump after tax. I'd mentally prepare to replace it.
You need 60-66 psi to start and mid 55-61 psi to run normally.
