Noise from 2002 front

I have a 2002 Astro with 101000 miles. It is 2wd and was well maintained before I got it last year with about 93k on it. I just put a new set of Michelin's on it (changed road noise a bit).
In the last few months I have noticed a noise resembling a growl/vibration coming from what seems to be the front that is similar to what a power steering pump would make, but not exactly, when I get to highway speeds. It is getting worse. Reving the engine does not seem to make it happen at lower speeds and turning left or right has no effect at any speed. I can, however, feel a "vibration" through the steering wheel resembling either the power steering pump or a bearing vibration when I slightly turn the steering wheel at speed (like changing lanes or doing the "kid weave" back and forth in my lane). PS fluid is ok and there are no leaks of any kind anywhere.
Nothing I do changes the pitch, volume or occurrence of the noise except vehicle speed. On the gas or off the gas at any speed has no effect; turning or going straight, no effect; engine speed, no effect.
Front wheel bearing?
Is it a package unit or a re-grease-able one?
I need to go on a 1500 mile trip next week (Aug 23) and don't want to be left on the side of the road.
Thanks

Found it is the last year for a non package unit. They are the re-grease-able ones. My mechanic is sure we are talking bearings. Might just let him go ahead and change both sides with Timpkins (i know it's spelled wrong but you understand). Getting too old to futz around with this.
