2002 S10 2.2liter clutch noise
I have a 2002 S10 with manual transmission that makes an unusual noise when the clutch is released and the truck is not moving. The noise goes away as you push the clutch in. How serious is this going to be... The truck has 95K miles.
I have a Haynes repair manual but it does not have an illustration of the clutch/transimssion assembly - any idea where I could get a good (diagram) look at all the pieces and how they assemble. I'm going to have to tackle this one - can't afford to have it fixed.
Thanks

If it is a noise like a lifter tapping or a rod knocking like my 93 s10 that stops when the clutch pedal is pressed, I was told it was the "throw out bearing". Haven't replaced it since I bought my s10 in July and still working so far. I was told it is best to replace the entire clutch assembly at one time instead of just seperate parts because of the headache of the clutch replacement.
