Default Towing

Hi, I have an Astro Day Van LA Cruiser!! I want to know if towing a large boat (aprox 2 tonne) would damage the auto gear box. I have been told by someone that its not a good thing to tow with auto's!!!
i dont want to spend out on a Tow bar only to discover its going to trash my box.
Thanks for any advice

personally i think autos are better to tow with unless your in a semi.. and they still have automatics in there only thing u do is clutch taking off. your van should be able to tow the boat.. just take it easy and dont be trying to go fast and such and your trans will be good
