My 07 Avalanche some times says service 4wheel drive when in auto but the 4wheel drive still works. I have to put it in 2wd, shut off the vehicle and switch it back to auto and notification is gone. When switching from 2wd to auto or 4lo I hear switching and can tell difference. This notification has appeared several times. Should I be concerned about this?
The local mechanics are unable to tell me what's wrong because it's an American vehicle and I'm stationed in Italy. But have assured me there are no mechanical issues.

 

yes I wouldn't let it go without looking into it or you may end up getting even more issues. First things first fluid full and good? Next step would be to get the codes.
