Default 2008 Avalanche motor rebuild

Hey everyone!
I have just completed an inboard rebuild on my truck and now I have a few questions that hoping you guys can help me with. When rebuilding the motor, I came across a collapsed lifter, one of the lifters that is part of the flex fuel setup. So I decided to not replace thos lifters. The ones with the spring on the bottom of them. Instead I bought new lifters that are non flex lifters for that motor. Installed and continued with the build. Upon startup, everything seemed normal as per a new build, but about a minute in I realized that something was wrong. It seems to idle fine but when giving it more fuel it gets rough. I have learned the cam in the flex is 2mm smaller then the regular cam on the non flex. So i'm thinking that has something to do with it. Any suggestions on what to do? Is there a cam that I can swap out to solve this or??? What else might I have to do to make this work for me?
Just cant seem to find any info on this. My vin is up there.
Thank you
Ian from Canada, Up in the snow eh!
