2008 LT ABS module can't be programmed
My father parked his Avalanche a few years ago when he stopped driving. I'm trying to get it back into shape.
when he stopped driving it, the ABS light had been on a while - he diagnosed it as the ABS module, but didn't care about it.
I bought a new ACDelco module, swapped it in and when the truck was in for a Takata airbag recall, I asked the dealer to program the module.
Today they told me that they couldn't communicate with the module and suggested it could be a bad (brand new) module or maybe a wiring problem.
Every result about ABS modules for these just says replace and program (or get one rebuilt)... wondering if anyone has experience with other problems blocking module access.
My father did pull out the stereo wiring - and other assorted bits - but my scantool sees the ABS error, so some kind of communication is happening?
the only other symptomsymptom 1.5 amp parasitic drain that goes away when the radio fuse is removed.
